Romanian Ambassador to Cairo, Olivia Toderian, congratulated all Muslims in Egypt and abroad on the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan.

She said in her congratulatory message: Ramadan is a time of contemplation and spiritual renewal, and it is a sacred period that unites millions in prayer and charitable works.

This year, we are fully aware of the challenges and uncertainties faced by many of our Muslim friends, both from Egypt and abroad.

In the midst of these challenges, it is crucial that we come together in solidarity, to embody the values of humanity and compassion that Ramadan teaches us.

The ambassador continued: As the Romanian ambassador to Egypt, we are committed with my team to strengthening cooperation and dialogue within Egypt in order to work towards a future of stability, progress and close friendship.

She concluded her speech by saying: May this month of Ramadan be a time of spiritual growth, inner peace and blessings for you, your family and friends.

Ramadan fell on Monday in Saudi Arabia, the Emirates, most of the Gulf states, Egypt, Yemen and the Palestinian territories, while Jordan and Iran announced that the first day of the month of fasting will be today, Tuesday.

This year, the month of Ramadan comes to the region and the Islamic world in a sad atmosphere due to the war in Gaza, and the Israeli bombing that the besieged Palestinian Strip is witnessing, a humanitarian crisis, and famine that threatens more than two million of its residents.
