Ambassador Anne Dorte Rijelsen, Danish Ambassador to Cairo, praised the strength of relations between Egypt and Denmark in many fields, especially health.
The Danish Ambassador affirmed her country’s readiness to support the Egyptian health sector, especially in the fields of pharmaceuticals, training and scientific research, which contributes to opening new horizons for cooperation between the two countries in sectors of common interest.
This came during her meeting with the accompanying delegation with Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, at the office of the Ministry of Health and Population in the New Administrative Capital.
For his part, the Minister of Health and Population began the meeting by congratulating the ambassador on assuming this important position, wishing her continued success in her assigned mission, praising the strength of Egyptian-Danish relations at all levels.
The meeting discussed opportunities for joint cooperation between the two sides in the health sector, based on the strength of the strategic relations that bring together Egypt and Denmark in various fields.
The meeting also discussed proposals for cooperation in the field of health care, and the exchange of experiences between the two sides in the fields of prevention and treatment, management of health crises, threats and epidemics, in addition to primary health care services, in addition to cooperation between medical institutions and entities specialized in scientific research and training.
During the meeting, the Minister discussed the exchange of experiences in the field of transferring technology for manufacturing medicines and vaccines, as well as cooperation in the field of digitization of medical services and comprehensive health coverage.
The meeting discussed opportunities to develop the pharmaceutical portfolio, through cooperation with the Danish company Novo Nordisk, to localize the insulin industry by strengthening partnerships and cooperation with Egyptian national companies, which will reflect on improving the services provided to the Egyptian patient, especially diabetics.
The meeting reviewed the efforts of the Egyptian state in supporting the Palestinian brothers, since the beginning of the events in the Gaza Strip, noting that the Ministry of Health is following the crisis around the clock through the central operations room, through which coordination is being made with Egyptian hospitals that receive the injured and wounded coming from the Strip.
He discussed the Ministry’s plan and work axes in providing therapeutic services, complex specialized surgeries, and critical medical cases for our Palestinian brothers, while monitoring chronic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, kidney failure, and tumors, as well as providing preventive services, through monitoring and treating infectious diseases and providing the necessary vaccinations and serums for them. The two sides discussed the ministry’s needs to continue providing medical support to injured Palestinian brothers who are receiving medical services in Egypt, as the minister stressed Egypt’s keenness to provide all services to the brothers in the Gaza Strip.
