The Spanish Ambassador to Cairo praises the relations between Cairo and Madrid in all fields

Ambassador Albaro Erantho, the Spanish ambassador to Cairo, praised the relations between his country and Egypt in all fields, especially at the political level.

This came during his speech at the Ramadan Iftar organized by the Spanish Embassy, ​​on Wednesday evening, in the presence of an elite group of Spanish and Egyptian media professionals, journalists, and officials.

The ambassador referred to the high-level mutual visits, as the Prime Minister of Spain visited three times in about a year. The Spanish Foreign Minister also visited Egypt last week and was received by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. He also held discussions with Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States.

The Spanish ambassador also reviewed cooperation between Cairo and Madrid in the economic, commercial and cultural fields.

Regarding the situation in the Gaza Strip, Ambassador Alparo Erantho said, “We feel deeply saddened by the situation in Gaza, pointing out that his country calls for a ceasefire in the Strip.”
The ambassador added: We have relations with Egypt related to investments, trade, cooperation, development, security issues, and defense issues. We are developing all these areas, and also programs with the Egyptian authorities, adding.

Regarding the Palestinian issue, the ambassador said: It is important that the displaced have all the basic things they need, including medicines, water, etc.

But unfortunately, the war is still there and we believe that the long-term solution must start with a ceasefire, and after that it must continue to implement the two-state solution, adding, we pledged to recognize the Palestinian state, and it is something that will happen.
