Today, the Arab Republic of Egypt hosted a meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Qatar, the Minister of State for International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates, and the Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, with the Secretary of State of the United States of America.
The developments in the Palestinian issue and the crisis in Gaza were discussed, and efforts to achieve a complete ceasefire, increase the access of aid and implement Security Council Resolution No. 2720, and stress the rejection of any attempts to liquidate the Palestinian issue or displace the Palestinian people outside their land, as well as any military operation in the Palestinian city of Rafah. The inevitability of implementing the two-state solution and establishing the Palestinian state in accordance with international references. They also warned of the dangerous and increasing regional repercussions of expanding the conflict in the region in a way that threatens the stability and safety of the region and the world.
In this context, the Arab ministers briefed the US Secretary of State on their vision regarding dealing with the current situation and the necessity of a ceasefire in Gaza, then moving to a new phase of concrete measures aimed at a political settlement through implementing the two-state solution. At the end of the meeting, it was agreed to hold a meeting of experts from the participating countries urgently in the coming days to determine concrete and coordinated priority steps to address the humanitarian crisis.
