Today, the Arab Republic of Egypt hosted a meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the State of Qatar, the Minister of State for International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates, and the Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, where they discussed and exchanged views on developments in the Palestinian issue.
The disastrous repercussions of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip and the efforts made to stop it and the unprecedented suffering and humanitarian catastrophe it produces.
The participants stressed the priority of achieving a comprehensive and immediate ceasefire, increasing the access of humanitarian aid, opening all crossings between Israel and the Gaza Strip, and overcoming the obstacles placed by Israel through the full implementation of Security Council Resolution No. 2720 in a way that meets the needs of more than two million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip facing famine. .
They stressed the need to provide full support to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), and renewed their rejection of any attempts to displace the Palestinians from their land, or to liquidate the Palestinian cause, stressing the need for Israel to stop all unilateral measures that undermine the chances of achieving a just peace, including settlements and those that They aim to change the existing historical and legal situation in Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian sanctities.
They stressed the importance of the role of the historical Hashemite custodianship in protecting these sanctities and their Arab, Islamic and Christian identity, and the inevitability of implementing the two-state solution and establishing the Palestinian state in accordance with international references, including the Arab Peace Initiative.
