The Foreign Minister makes a phone call with his Russian counterpart

Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, the official spokesman and Director of the Public Diplomacy Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Sameh Shoukry, made an ongoing phone call with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Mr. Sergei Lavrov, where he conveyed to him Egypt’s sincere condolences and his personal condolences, against the backdrop of the shooting incident. Which occurred in a concert hall near the Russian capital, Moscow, resulting in dozens of casualties and injuries.

The Foreign Ministry spokesman added that Minister Shoukry reaffirmed Egypt’s firm position regarding its strong condemnation and complete rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism, expressing Egypt’s solidarity with Russia and Cairo’s full support for Moscow regarding what it is going through in these difficult circumstances.

Ambassador Abu Zeid added that Minister Lavrov expressed his thanks and appreciation for the Foreign Minister’s initiative to communicate with him, praising the friendly relations and close ties that unite the two countries at various levels, which is clearly evident in the joint support between the two sides in the face of all challenges.
