Arab Parliament: Palestinian women bear the greatest burden in confronting the terrorism and crimes of the occupying entity

Representative Sheikha Al-Jufairi, a member of the Arab Parliament, confirmed that historical experience and contemporary experiences confirm that women are at the forefront of the groups that suffer from the scourges of wars and conflicts, citing what Palestinian women suffer due to the brutal massacres and genocidal war carried out by the brutal occupation entity in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories on Over the course of about six continuous months, she indicated that since the start of the brutal aggression of the Israeli occupation forces against the Gaza Strip, more than 32 thousand martyrs have been martyred, and the number of women only reached about ten thousand.

This came during the intervention delivered by Her Excellency Representative Sheikha Al-Jufairi, Member of the Arab Parliament, during participation in the meeting of the Women Parliamentarians Forum of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, which discussed the topic of women, security and peace. This meeting came within the framework of the meetings of the 148th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, hosted by Geneva during the period from 23 to 27 March 2024 AD.

In her intervention, Her Excellency Sheikha Al-Jufairi stressed that despite the terrorist practices that Palestinian women face, and despite the loss of thousands of their children due to the terrorism of the occupying entity, women in Palestine are still steadfast, and bear a great burden in the face of these brutal massacres, and are doing with all the strength they have. She made an effort for the members of her community to recover from the effects of those massacres, and to support them in steadfastness in the face of the occupation’s terrorism. She addressed a tribute of reverence, appreciation and respect to the Palestinian woman. She also called on the forum to issue a special statement condemning the genocidal war that the Palestinian people are being subjected to in general, and what Palestinian women are particularly exposed to massacres and brutal crimes.

Al-Jufairi stressed that women have the ability to build peace side by side with their male partners, and they can sit at the negotiating table, as they carry the same concerns and work hard to advance and build society, and this was confirmed by Security Council Resolution No. 1325 issued in 2000, which recognized for the first time The first is the role of women in resolving conflicts and building peace, indicating that there may be a state of unintentional ignorance of women’s capabilities in peacebuilding, and this in itself requires increasing societal awareness at all levels of their role in peacebuilding, and removing the false stereotype about women in peacebuilding. this field.
