Devastating: Australian Prime Minister’s First Comment on the Sydney Stabbing Incident

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese confirmed the death of several victims in the Sydney stabbing incident today, Saturday.

The Australian prime minister described the mass stabbing incident, which claimed the lives of five people in Sydney, as “devastating.”

Albanese said he was briefed by the Australian Federal Police after the attack carried out by a man at Bondi Junction Westfield on a busy Saturday afternoon.

Albanese thanked the emergency services.

In a statement, he said, “Tragically, multiple injuries have been reported and the thoughts of all Australians are with those affected and their loved ones.”

He added, “Our hearts go out to those injured, and we offer our thanks to those caring for them as well as our brave police and first responders.”

Police shot and killed the attacker after the terror attack occurred shortly after 3 p.m.

The Australian Ambulance Service reported that eight people, including a child, were taken to the hospital after the stabbing incident in Sydney.
