Next Friday: the opening of the Sultanate of Oman’s pavilion at the 2024 Venice International Art Biennale

The Sultanate of Oman will participate next Friday with a pavilion in the 60th session of the Venice International Biennale 2024, which was entitled “Foreigners Everywhere.” The exhibition’s activities will continue until next November 24.

The Venice Biennale Art Exhibition is one of the most important international art forums since its inception in 1895 AD.

The art exhibition is held every two years and each country displays in its national pavilion a selection of the works of its most famous artists in the field of contemporary art.
In this edition, the Sultanate of Oman has its own independent pavilion in a unique location in an effort to further spread and global influence, with a total area of ​​300 square metres. It is located near the historic Piazza San Marco, the beating heart of Venice, which will allow participating artists to display artworks independently and contribute to Enhancing the appearance of Omani art globally, enhancing the visibility of the Omani artistic and cultural identity, and expanding artistic communication networks, which opens doors for future cooperation opportunities. The pavilion is expected to attract approximately 2,000 visitors daily throughout the exhibition days.

In another context, the Ministry of Agricultural Wealth, Fisheries and Water Resources in the Sultanate of Oman stated that the total amount of rainwater retained by 49 dams to protect against flood risks in a number of states of the Sultanate of Oman amounted to more than 179 million cubic meters during the period from April 14 to 17. .
