Dr. Murat Gatin, Director of the Russian Cultural Centers in Egypt, opened a photo exhibition on “Traditions of Islam in Russia” at six in the evening, in the exhibition hall of the Russian Cultural Center in Cairo.
The Russian Cultural Center in Cairo said in a statement that the exhibition is organized by the Religious Administration of Muslims of Russia and the Shura Council of Muftis.
The exhibition was attended by a delegation from the Religious Administration in Russia, consisting of Roshan Abyasov, First Deputy Chairman of the Shura Council of Russian Muftis, Deputy Chairman of the Religious Administration of Muslims of Russia, Rinat Abyanov, Director of the Department of Spiritual Culture of Muslims of Russia, Elshat Salahdinov, Director of the “Iqraa” publishing house, and the Russian artist Chulpan Sharaf. Aldinova is a member of the Union of Artists of Russia and Tatarstan.
The exhibition displays vivid pictures from the various activities of the religious administration for the Muslims of Russia, as it includes the famous picture of President Putin during his visit to the Friday Mosque in the historic city of Derbent in Dagestan, which is one of the oldest mosques, where the Qur’an was presented as a gift to Putin, who appeared in the picture embracing him while saying: “ “We must protect religious beliefs from any abuse.”
For his part, Murat Gatin, Director of the Russian Cultural Centers in Egypt, pointed out that the exhibition is an opportunity to learn about the cultural and historical heritage of Russian Muslims.
Jatin added that the exhibition is divided into 8 parts to convey pictures of activities for Russian Muslims through 8 regions, including organizing competitions in memorizing the Qur’an, courses to teach blind and visually impaired Muslims to learn to read the Qur’an in Braille, handicrafts in Islamic centers, and visits by the Mufti of Russia, Sheikh Rawi Ain al-Din.
To various Islamic countries, the exhibition also conveys pages of cooperation between the religious administration of the Muslims of Russia and Egypt at the official and civil society levels.
