Lieutenant General Muhammad Abbas, Minister of Civil Aviation, received Eng. The meeting was attended by accountant Amani Metwally, Permanent Undersecretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Pilot Amr El-Sharkawy, Head of the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority, Pilot Mohamed Moussa, President of EgyptAir Airlines, Mrs. Reem Orabi, Head of the Alliances and International Relations Sector at EgyptAir, Captain Fouad Gohar, Director General of Agreements at the Civil Aviation Authority, and a number Representatives of Omani airlines and the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority.
The meeting discussed a number of topics of common interest to enhance cooperation and integration between the two sides in various fields. Among them was an increase in air traffic and a comprehensive cooperation project in the field of air freight and in the areas of training, exchange of experiences, and provision of technical support and maintenance services.

For his part, Engineer Nayef bin Ali bin Hamad Al Abri – Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority in the Sultanate of Oman, expressed his happiness with this fruitful meeting, expressing his aspiration for more cooperation and strong partnerships between the two countries, praising the development boom that the Arab Republic of Egypt is witnessing in various fields, including The civil aviation sector witnessed the implementation of many development works during the last period.
The meeting also discussed the signing of a bilateral air transport agreement between the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority and the Omani Civil Aviation Authority regarding organizing the operational and technical aspects in a way that serves the common interests in the field of organizing air transport services between the two countries and maximizes the positive returns by creating a flexible airspace that is more attractive and easy for companies. Aviation.
The agreement was signed on the Egyptian side by Pilot Amr Al-Sharqawi, Head of the Civil Aviation Authority, and on the Omani side by Engineer Nayef bin Ali bin Hamad Al-Abri, Head of the Civil Aviation Authority.
Following the agreement, a bilateral discussion session was held between the two sides at the headquarters of the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority. They discussed air transport rights and ways to increase air traffic between the two countries during the coming period in light of the effective cooperation efforts between Egypt and Oman in accordance with a joint and effective action plan that achieves positive results. He also presented The delegation presented its vision through a presentation on the current and future vision of the Sultanate of Oman in the field of air navigation services and ways to develop them, in addition to reviewing the project to restructure the Omani airspace and the stages of the project’s work and discussing the most prominent challenges facing air traffic.
For his part, Pilot Amr El-Sharqawi, Head of the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority, pointed out the consistency of efforts made between the two sides. Especially since the Egyptian side is working on that project in the Egyptian airspace in a way that supports and maximizes the benefit for both sides and contributes to improving and supporting the airspace of the Middle East region, especially in light of the strategic and geographical location of the two countries, as the Sultanate of Oman is the aviation gateway to India and the Far East on the continent of East Asia, and Egypt is the gateway. The main ones for Africa and Europe, which deepens the horizons of cooperation between the two countries and increases the effectiveness of air services for all countries of the Middle East.
The Omani delegation expressed their astonishment at what they saw of the achievements and development projects achieved by the Egyptian state. The new administrative capital is a strong and attractive start for more investments. Emphasizing the necessity of joint work and concerted efforts with the Egyptian side to advance the civil aviation industry at various levels, regionally and internationally, in order to achieve the ambitions of all Arab countries in all air transport activities.
