Appointment of Qatari Mutlaq Al-Qahtani as a member of the Permanent Court of International Arbitration in The Hague

The Permanent Court of International Arbitration in The Hague decided to appoint Dr. Mutlaq bin Majid Al Qahtani, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, as a member of the court.

The Court, an international organization based in The Hague in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, works to provide various services to the international community in the field of resolving disputes by peaceful means.

The Court was established in 1899 as a result of the Hague Peace Conference, making it the oldest international institution for settling international disputes.

The Permanent Court of Arbitration is the first permanent intergovernmental organization established with the aim of providing a forum for the settlement of international disputes through arbitration and peaceful dispute resolution methods.

The Permanent Court of Arbitration was established in 1899 with the aim of facilitating the use of arbitration and the settlement of disputes between states. The Court has now developed into a contemporary, multi-purpose arbitration institution that meets the continuing and growing demand for dispute settlement from the international community.

Today, the Court provides multiple services to settle disputes that arise between states, between state-owned entities (public law persons), between intergovernmental organizations, or between private parties (private law persons).
