The Bangladeshi Ambassador to Cairo praises Egypt’s pivotal role in supporting the Palestinian cause

The Bangladeshi Ambassador to Cairo, Samina Naz, praised Egypt’s pivotal role in supporting the Palestinian cause and its effective contribution to delivering humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, stressing the strength of relations between her country and Egypt, which extend over 50 years and are based on the foundations of common values ​​and fruitful cooperation In various fields.

This came in the ambassador’s speech yesterday evening during the Bangladesh Embassy in Cairo’s celebration of the 54th anniversary of the country’s independence and National Day, in the presence of Dr. Yasmine Fouad, Minister of Environment, Ambassador Ahmed Shaheen, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Asian Affairs, and a number of ambassadors from various Arab and foreign countries.

She pointed out that Egypt was one of the first Arab countries to recognize Bangladesh in 1973, and played an important role in supporting its struggle for independence, and also effectively contributed to Bangladesh joining the Organization of the Islamic Conference and the Non-Aligned Movement.

She explained that bilateral relations between the two countries are witnessing steady growth in all fields, including trade, education, agriculture, tourism and defense, and there is close cooperation between the two countries in the field of women’s empowerment and advancements.

In another context, the ambassador highlighted the 54th anniversary of Bangladesh’s independence, praising the role of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, “Bangabandhu”, in leading the struggle for freedom and achieving independence.

She emphasized the great progress that Bangladesh has achieved over the past years, as it has transformed into one of the fastest growing economies in the world, thanks to rational government policies, investment support, and attracting foreign capital.

She pointed out that Bangladesh has become the second largest exporter of ready-made garments in the world, and has achieved remarkable progress in other fields such as the pharmaceutical industry, ceramics and shipbuilding.
