The US Ambassador to Cairo: Egypt has a leading role in tourism, culture, and sports

The American Ambassador to Cairo, Hero Mustafa Garg, hosted the famous basketball team “Harlem Globetrotters”, which is one of the most famous exhibition basketball teams in the world.

It combines sports, fun and entertainment. It was established about 90 years ago, and it confirmed that Egypt is the only country in the Middle East that this team visited; Who held three sports shows in Cairo and Alexandria.

The American Ambassador stated, at the ceremony that she held in the American Embassy building, in the presence of ambassadors and diplomats, that she is happy with the presence of the “Harlem Globetrotters” in Egypt, as it is the only country that the team has visited due to Egypt’s pioneering role in tourism, culture, and sports in the region.

She added that such an event is evidence that confirms the permanent cultural partnership between the Egyptian and American peoples, and it also creates a kind of tourism boom for Egypt through followers of this team in the United States via social media.

In us, the team coach declared that he was happy with such a visit, which he had hoped for, and he and the rest of the team expressed their astonishment during their visit to the pyramids, which reflected the power of ancient Egyptian civilization.

They also expressed their happiness with the warm Egyptian reception of them and how good and hospitable the people were.

The team’s coach said that during their visit to Cairo, which will extend into the first week of June, the team will prepare basketball workshops for women and people with special needs and help integrate them into society.

The ceremony was attended by the famous Harlem Globetrotters band, diplomats of the American embassy in Cairo, and several ambassadors, led by the ambassadors of Britain, Greece, Turkey, and Canada, and the artist Lebleba.
