The Gulf Cooperation Council countries renew their positions in support of the Moroccan Sahara and the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Morocco

The countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council, in a statement before the regular session of the 24th Committee of the United Nations, in New York, reaffirmed their positions in support of the Moroccanity of the Sahara and the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Morocco.

In the statement read by the representative of the State of Qatar on behalf of the group of member states that includes, in addition to his country, the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Kuwait, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the Sultanate of Oman, the Gulf Cooperation Council countries reiterated “the importance of strategic partnership.”

The special agreement between the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Kingdom of Morocco, the implementation of the joint action plan, and the firm positions and decisions of the Cooperation Council in support of the Moroccan Sahara, and the preservation of the security and stability of Morocco and the unity and integrity of its territories.

In this regard, the Gulf Cooperation Council welcomed the recent resolutions of the UN Security Council regarding the Moroccan Sahara.

The GCC countries also expressed their support for all efforts made by Morocco and the international community to reach a peaceful solution to this regional conflict, noting the importance of all parties exercising wisdom and dialogue and promoting the spirit of consensus.

She stressed that settling this conflict would contribute to achieving security, peace and stability in the region.
