The U.S. Embassy in Cairo is proud to launch the fourth edition of the New Vision film series with our Egyptian partner, Art Everywhere. Art Everywhere’s Cinema Everywhere project holds film screenings in alternative spaces, such as clubs, community centers, and NGOs. The U.S. Embassy, in collaboration with American Film Showcase, is supporting 12 screenings in various cultural spaces across Upper Egypt, the Delta, and coastal cities July 11-26. This exciting cultural program will bring American independent short films to underserved areas throughout Egypt and build stronger ties between the Egyptian and American people.
U.S. Ambassador Herro Mustafa Garg said, “This unique project not only strengthens the cultural partnerships between Egypt and the United States, but also promotes economic growth through the film industry. We are particularly proud to partner with Art Everywhere’s Deaf Film Lab to bring these films to audiences who are deaf or hard of hearing.”
The screenings are open to the public and free to attend. The film series will begin in Minya July 11-12 and in Assuit July 14-15. The program will continue in Damietta on July 18, in Kafr El-Sheikh on July 20, and finish in Alexandria July 21-26. Special screenings for deaf audiences are scheduled on July 22, 23, and 25 at Cinephile – the Independent Cinematic Center in Alexandria.
