Deputy Head of the Political Bureau of Hamas, Mousa Abu Marzouk, welcomed the agreement signed last night in China with Fatah and other Palestinian factions.

Abu Marzouk said, “We signed the national unity agreement, and we say that the path to completing this journey is national unity, and we are committed to it and call for it.”

At the conclusion of a meeting held by the Palestinian factions in China last night, they announced their agreement on “achieving comprehensive national unity,” including all parties within the framework of the Palestine Liberation Organization and forming a temporary national unity government.

The declaration was signed by 14 Palestinian factions, including parties and movements such as Islamic Jihad and the Popular Front, in the Chinese capital, Beijing.

The conference lasted for two full days, and in its conclusion, a statement was issued to Arab media: “The national factions agreed during their meeting in China to achieve comprehensive Palestinian national unity that includes all Palestinian forces and factions within the framework of the Palestine Liberation Organization; and commitment to establishing an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, according to UN resolutions, and ensuring the right of return according to Resolution 194.”
