China has recently celebrated the successful completion of its first mission to collect lunar soil samples, marking a significant achievement in the country’s space exploration efforts.
The Chang’e 5 mission, which returned to Earth with approximately 2 kilograms of lunar soil and rock samples, is considered a major milestone for China’s space program.
The mission was a part of China’s ambitious plan to establish itself as a leading space power by the mid-21st century.
The mission was launched in November last year and involved a complex series of maneuvers to collect samples from the Moon’s surface and return them safely to Earth.
This success makes China the third country, after the United States and the Soviet Union, to bring back samples from the Moon.
