The Omani government has launched a new initiative to promote sustainable farming practices in rural areas.
The initiative, which is part of the country’s Vision 2040 plan, aims to reduce the environmental impact of agriculture by encouraging farmers to adopt eco-friendly methods such as crop rotation, organic fertilizers, and efficient water usage.
The program also provides financial support to small-scale farmers who are transitioning to more sustainable practices.
This effort is seen as crucial in maintaining food security in Oman, a country with limited arable land and scarce water resources.
By promoting sustainable farming, Oman hopes to ensure that its agricultural sector remains viable in the long term, while also protecting the environment.
The initiative has been well received by farmers, many of whom have already begun to implement these new techniques.
