The Spanish bands “La Brenda Roja” and “Vanica” will be in Egypt to participate in the fourth edition of “She Arts” Festival, which will be held in Cairo and Alexandria during the period from September 26 to 29.

The presence of the two bands comes with the support of the Cultural and Scientific Attaché of the Spanish Embassy in Egypt, and the Cervantes Institute in Cairo through an agreement with the European Union Delegation and the European Union National Institutes for Culture (UNC).

The band “La Brenda Roja”, composed of Cristina Lopez, Sara Sambola and Ana Brenes, will perform on Thursday, September 26, at 9:15 p.m. in the main garden of the American University in Cairo and on Friday, September 27, at 9:00 p.m. at the Jesuit Cultural Center in Alexandria, where they will test the disciplines that have left their mark on their artistic development: flamenco, jazz, plastic arts and applied technology in the arts.

At the same time, the band Fanica will perform two shows, the first in Cairo (Friday, September 27, at 7:15 p.m., in the main garden of the American University in Cairo) and Alexandria (Sunday, September 29, at 8:00 p.m., at the French Institute). Ines, the guitarist, will join Annika on violin and Bruna on cello in a progressive folk and rock performance featuring the trio.

Both bands will also be offering free workshops for young Egyptian artists in Cairo on September 28 and 29.

The “she Arts” festival was founded in 2021 with the aim of highlighting the creativity of female artists from around the world, as well as encouraging the celebration of female creativity.

The “She Arts” festival features Egyptian and international artists, and previous editions have included the Spanish group “Las Mijas” (2023) and artist Isabel Venadril (2022).

The festival is supported by the Cultural and Scientific Affairs Attaché at the Embassy of Spain in Egypt, the Cervantes Institute in Cairo, the European Union Delegation to Egypt, and other Egyptian and foreign institutions.
