Based on the directives of Dr. Badr Abdel Aati, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, Ambassador Ahmed Shaheen, Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs, will visit Tashkent, the capital of the Republic of Uzbekistan, during the period from September 24 to 26, 2024, to chair the eleventh round of political consultations at the level of Assistant Foreign Ministers of the two countries, and hold meetings with various Uzbek parties to discuss ways to enhance bilateral relations in priority areas for both sides.
At the beginning of the visit, Ambassador Ahmed Shaheen met with Mr. “Abdulla Azizov”, Director of the Uzbek Agency for the Development of Pharmaceutical Industries, where they discussed ways to push Egyptian pharmaceutical products to the Uzbek market, and discussed proposals to increase the volume of business of Egyptian pharmaceutical companies in Uzbekistan, and establish close cooperation between Egypt and Uzbekistan in the pharmaceutical sector.
