By Sama Marwan,
Israeli media announced that Israeli defenses intercepted Iranian drones and missiles in the skies over Tel Aviv, as reported by Cairo News Channel in a breaking news update.
It was also revealed that no less than 102 missiles were launched from Iran, with sirens sounding across all of Israel.
Axios reported that the Iranian missile attack on Israel followed just hours after U.S. warnings of an imminent Iranian attack.
The Israeli military disclosed that all Israeli civilians are currently in shelters due to the missile launches from Iran.
The skies of southern Lebanon were illuminated by several missiles heading toward Israel, following the Israeli army’s recent announcement of the start of the Iranian attack.
In a related context, Qassem Hashem, a member of the Lebanese Parliament, stated that the responsibility for the current situation in Lebanon falls on the international community as a whole.
Hashem stressed that despite its calls to uphold human rights and promote international peace and security, the international community bears a significant part of the burden Lebanon is facing.
He added that Israel would not have dared to engage in its aggressive practices if it weren’t for the international community’s leniency, which failed to impose its will to put an end to these actions.
Hashem further explained that the lack of decisive steps by the international community has allowed Israel to escape punishment.
He pointed out that the international community’s embrace of Israel has contributed to reinforcing this aggressive approach.
He concluded that the role of the international community must go beyond mere slogans and should include active humanitarian support for the Lebanese people, who are suffering from a major displacement crisis, with the number of displaced people from the south exceeding one million.
Hashem concluded by saying that while Lebanon may have human capacities, it lacks the necessary resources to meet basic needs such as housing and food, underscoring the importance of providing on-the-ground assistance to ensure the supply of essential items.
