The White House revealed that U.S. President Joe Biden has called for a meeting with Vice President Kamala Harris and the National Security Team to discuss Iran’s plans to attack Israel, according to Cairo News Channel in a breaking news update.
Israeli media also reported that Israeli defenses intercepted Iranian drones and missiles in the skies over Tel Aviv, as reported by Cairo News Channel in another breaking news alert.
It was revealed that no less than 102 missiles were launched from Iran, with sirens sounding across all of Israel.
Axios reported that the launch of Iranian missiles toward Israel came just hours after U.S. warnings of an imminent Iranian attack.
The Israeli military disclosed that all Israeli civilians are currently in shelters as missiles continue to be fired from Iran.
Several missiles lit up the skies of southern Lebanon, heading toward Israel, after the Israeli military’s recent announcement of the start of the Iranian attack.
In a related context, Qassem Hashem, a member of the Lebanese Parliament, stated that the international community bears responsibility for the current situation in Lebanon.
Hashem emphasized that despite its claims of defending human rights and promoting international peace and security, the international community shares a large part of the burden Lebanon suffers.
He added that Israel’s aggressive actions would not have been possible without the international community’s complacency, which has failed to impose its will to stop these actions.
Hashem further explained that the lack of decisive steps by the international community has allowed Israel to escape punishment.
He pointed out that the international community’s support of Israel has contributed to reinforcing this aggressive approach.
Hashem concluded that the role of the international community must go beyond slogans and include active humanitarian support for the Lebanese people, who are suffering from a major displacement crisis, with the number of displaced individuals from southern Lebanon exceeding one million.
He added that while Lebanon may have human resources, it lacks the necessary means to meet basic needs such as housing and food.
He emphasized the importance of providing on-the-ground assistance to ensure the availability of essential supplies.
This statement was made during an appearance on Cairo News Channel.
