Sherif Fathy, the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, met with Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, the Saudi Minister of Hajj, in one of the key meetings held during this visit.
The aim of the discussions was to explore ways to enhance joint cooperation between Egypt and Saudi Arabia in the field of tourism and antiquities.
The meeting was attended by Ahmed Farouk, Egypt’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia; Amr El Kady, CEO of the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Authority; Dr. Mohamed Ismail Khaled, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities; Ambassador Khaled Tharwat, Advisor to the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for International Relations and General Supervisor of the General Department of International Relations and Agreements at the ministry; and Samia Sami, Head of the Central Administration for Tourism Companies at the ministry and Chair of the Supreme Committee for Hajj and Umrah.
During the meeting, the importance of enhancing further joint coordination between Egypt and Saudi Arabia on Hajj and Umrah matters was emphasized, aiming to improve the experience and the quality of services provided during Hajj and Umrah journeys. They also discussed various files that will be worked on jointly in preparation for the upcoming Hajj season.
Sherif Fathy praised Saudi Arabia’s efforts in this area, especially in delivering the best services to pilgrims and Umrah performers.
Additionally, both sides agreed to implement joint awareness campaigns for pilgrims and Umrah performers and to continue coordination on all levels.
