Minister of Communications: Launch of a Specialized AI Incubator

By Sama Marwan,

Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, announced that work is currently underway to establish a new specialized incubator in the field of artificial intelligence (AI).

This incubator will provide computing resources for small and emerging companies, enabling them to improve and enhance their AI algorithms and systems.

The incubator is set to launch at the beginning of next year.

The minister also highlighted the expansion of Egypt’s Digital Creativity Centers “Creativa” across various governorates, aimed at supporting entrepreneurs in the communications and IT sector.

So far, 23 centers have been established, with plans to complete centers in the remaining governorates by 2025, with the goal of having one center in each governorate.

The second generation of Egypt’s Digital Creativity Centers focuses on creating specialized incubators to support startups and small to medium-sized enterprises working in the communications and IT fields.

Dr. Amr Talaat’s remarks were made during the opening of the 10th edition of the Techne Summit in Alexandria, a leading investment and startup event in the Mediterranean region, under the patronage of the Ministries of Communications and Information Technology and Youth and Sports.

The summit is being held at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina from October 5 to 8, under the theme “10 Years of Connecting Creative Minds.”

The minister explained that the Creativa Digital Innovation Centers project started in 2019, aiming to build on the success of the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC), the first incubator in the communications and IT sector.

Creativa also seeks to extend its support to entrepreneurs across the governorates by providing training, mentorship, and introducing startups to leading global companies for technical training and educational resources.
