Ahmed Hossam Mido, the former Zamalek star, congratulated the Egyptian people on the occasion of the 73rd anniversary of the October victories, expressing his pride in the strength of the Egyptian army. Mido wrote on his account on X: “October ’73, the war in which Egypt proved to the world that the Egyptian army is invincible, even in the presence of the latest weapons.
As long as our great army is strong and united, with a great people believing in it behind it, there is no chance for any aggression against Egypt.”
In television statements on “On Time Sports,” Mido talked about Zamalek’s performance in the last match, praising coach Gomez’s attacking lineup and his courage in making decisions.
He considered that Koller, the coach of Al Ahly, was cautious and preferred to play defensively to maintain the result.
Mido pointed out that the decision to substitute Imam Ashour was a wrong one, and that the level of the match was not good between the two biggest teams in Africa.
He expressed his happiness with Zamalek’s deserved victory over Al Ahly in the African Super Cup, but added that Zamalek’s performance in the match against Kenyan Police was unsatisfactory, urging fans to be patient as players return from injuries.
Mido emphasized that changing coaches in football is not an easy matter and that the decision should be made at the right time.
He stressed the need for the coach to feel anxious to maintain his position, expressing confidence in Gomez’s ability to achieve positive results after winning the Confederation Cup with Zamalek.
