By Manal Abdel Fattah

France has reiterated its firm commitment to its exceptional partnership with Morocco, and its determination to continue deepening it, following the European Court of Justice’s ruling on the EU-Morocco fisheries and agriculture agreements.

The French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs stressed in a statement that the relationship between the European Union and Morocco is of a strategic nature in this regard.

The same source highlighted that France, which “took note” of the three rulings issued by the European Court of Justice on Friday, affirmed that it will continue to work with its European partners to strengthen their exchanges, especially economic ones, and preserve the gains of the partnership, within the framework of respect for international law.

The French Foreign Ministry added that France, as stated in the message sent by the President of the French Republic, Mr. Emmanuel Macron to His Majesty King Mohammed VI on the occasion of Throne Day, remains particularly determined to support Morocco’s efforts to promote economic and social development in the Sahara, for the benefit of the local population.
