The Constitutional Courts of Morocco and Egypt Sign a Joint Judicial Cooperation Protocol

Within the framework of the positive dynamics experienced by relations between Morocco and Egypt, the Egyptian Supreme Constitutional Court and the Constitutional Court of the Kingdom of Morocco signed a joint judicial cooperation protocol on Thursday, October 17, at the headquarters of the Supreme Constitutional Court in Cairo.

The Egyptian Supreme Constitutional Court was represented by its President, Counselor Boulos Fahmy Iskandar, and the Moroccan side was represented by Counselor Mohamed Amin Benabdallah, President of the Constitutional Court of the Kingdom of Morocco.

The protocol included organizing the exchange of constitutional and logistical expertise between the two courts.

This came during the visit of the President of the Moroccan Constitutional Court and his accompanying delegation to the headquarters of the Egyptian Supreme Constitutional Court, which was attended by members of the General Assembly of the Court, during which visions and viewpoints were exchanged regarding constitutional principles in both countries, and the rulings issued by both courts in similar cases were reviewed, within the framework of the two courts’ membership in the Arab Union of Constitutional Courts and Councils, and the interest that the Kingdom of Morocco and the Arab Republic of Egypt attach to supporting constitutional judicial cooperation activities.

The aforementioned protocol is added to the diverse and distinguished legal framework that governs the fraternal relations between Morocco and Egypt, which are sponsored by the leaders of the two countries, King Mohammed VI, King of the Kingdom of Morocco, and His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
