Ambassador Liao Liqiang, China’s Ambassador to Cairo, said that China, as the largest developing country in the world, has completed the industrialization process that took hundreds of years in advanced Western countries in just a few decades, creating a miracle in the world history of modernization, by following a development path that is compatible with China’s national conditions.
During his participation in the conference to promote the book “Excerpts from Xi Jinping’s Speeches on Chinese-Style Modernization,” he added: Achieving modernization is a common goal sought by all countries in the world, as how to achieve modernization in developing countries that have lagged behind in the modernization process is a global dilemma.
The ambassador continued: What is the basic nature of Chinese-style modernization? What are the goals, plans, and strategies for Chinese-style modernization? What is its global impact? We will find the answers to the questions mentioned in the book “Excerpts from Xi Jinping’s Speeches on Chinese-Style Modernization.”
He added that the book provides in-depth explanations of the rich contents of Chinese-style modernization, including its Chinese characteristics, essential requirements and basic principles. It is a reference for Chinese and foreign readers who want to understand Chinese-style modernization from both theoretical and practical perspectives, and learn how the Chinese people successfully discovered the path of Chinese-style modernization, created a new form of human civilization and opened up new horizons for modernization under the leadership of the Communist Party of China.
The ambassador added: In the midst of the tremendous changes over the past century, the pursuit of development and rejuvenation has become a common aspiration of China, Egypt and other developing countries, and the countries of the Global South are making steady strides in exploring a development path that suits national conditions with independent will.
He continued: Last July, the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China was held, which made a comprehensive plan to further deepen reform and advance Chinese-style modernization.
He said that at the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation in September, President Xi Jinping put forward the six-point vision on joint China-Africa action to advance modernization, announcing the ten partnership actions to advance modernization with the African side over the next three years, which was positively received by all African leaders and will provide a strong impetus to accelerate the pace of modernization in the “global south” and on a global scale.
He added: Let us take “Excerpts from Xi Jinping’s Speeches on Chinese-style Modernization” as an entry point to enhance the alignment of development strategies and communication on ways to govern and administer the country, walk hand in hand in the modernization process, and increase the contribution of building a Chinese-Egyptian, Chinese-Arab and Chinese-African society with a shared future, thus contributing to the global cause of peace, stability and development.
