During the visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to the Kingdom of Morocco, which lasts from October 28 to 30, King Mohammed VI of Morocco held in-depth discussions with the French President on the issue of moving towards a new phase of strong relations between the two countries, within the framework of an “exceptional renewed partnership”, and a strategic roadmap for the coming years.

In this context, the leaders of the two countries intend, according to a statement from the Moroccan Royal Court, to give a decisive boost to the excellent multidimensional relations between Morocco and France, taking into account the ambitions of Morocco and France, and facing international developments and challenges together.

The discussions also covered regional and international issues, and the two sides agreed to work in a coordinated manner to strengthen the Euro-Mediterranean, African and Atlantic orientation, within an approach to joint action that serves prosperity and human and sustainable development.

On the other hand, the French President praised the constructive role played by the Moroccan King, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, in serving peace in the Middle East, and called on the leaders of the two countries to immediately stop the attacks in Gaza and Lebanon, while stressing the priority of protecting civilians, and the importance of ensuring and facilitating the delivery of sufficient humanitarian aid, while putting an end to the inflaming of the situation at the regional level.

In the same context, the leaders of the two countries mentioned the urgency of reviving the peace process within the framework of the two-state solution, an independent Palestinian state, on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

It is worth noting that the Moroccan King and the French President chaired, yesterday, Monday 10/28/2024, the signing ceremony of 22 agreements through which relations and cooperation will be strengthened in various fields, in the presence of the Moroccan Prime Minister and a number of senior members of the government and Moroccan officials, and members of the delegation accompanying the French President, which highlights the great importance that the French side attaches to Morocco as a reliable ally and a country of significant weight on the regional and international arenas.
