Sameh Shoukry, Egypt’s Foreign Minister, encouraged Egyptians living abroad to participate in the presidential elections by exercising their constitutional right to vote.
In press statements on Tuesday, he stated that getting involved in public life is a national duty and a constitutional rights.
Shoukry emphasized the Foreign Ministry’s significant experience in holding elections and referendums, noting that its missions abroad have participated in eleven constitutional events since 2011.
The ministry is also assisting with preparing for the participation of regional and international organizations, such as the Arab League and the African Union, which have been asked to supervise the elections by the National Elections Authority.
Shoukry has directed Egypt’s diplomatic missions worldwide to facilitate the participation of expatriates in the presidential elections, scheduled for December 1, 2, and 3 at 137 ballot stations in 121 countries.
Voting hours will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. local time in each country on the election dates, he said, emphasizing coordination with the National Elections Authority to ensure a smooth voting process.
