By Sama Marwan,

Former President Donald Trump is expected to propose a groundbreaking $1.01 trillion national security budget for fiscal year 2025 — the largest in U.S. history — according to Bloomberg sources within the White House.

This proposed budget, which would take effect on October 1, represents a significant increase from the $841 billion allocated in 2024, highlighting the administration’s intensified focus on military advancement and global defense readiness.

Major areas of investment include funding for the Iron Dome missile defense system, expanded naval shipbuilding initiatives, and upgrades to the country’s nuclear energy capabilities. The proposal also includes a 3.8% pay raise for U.S. military personnel.

Speaking on April 8, Trump confirmed that his administration had finalized a defense spending plan nearing $1 trillion, emphasizing renewed commitment to strategic deterrence and military preparedness amid escalating international tensions.
