French Ambassador to Cairo: Paris continues to move forward in its pivotal role in bringing peace

By Manal Abdel Fattah

The French Cultural Center in Cairo launched the “Here is Palestine” activities, in support of Palestinian national culture in the face of the genocidal war committed by Israel against the Palestinian people.

In his speech, the French Ambassador to Cairo, Eric Chevalier, confirmed that this initiative, which is hosted by the French Cultural Institute starting from the 26th to the 29th of this month, aims to display the Palestinian identity, through a number of writers and intellectuals in Palestine.

He added that this is an expression of full solidarity and clinging to the glimmer of hope for achieving peace, based on France’s belief in the necessity of knowledge and openness to Palestinian culture, which must be preserved in its own identity, and which is considered a guardian of Palestinian memory and heritage, because it embodies the collective Palestinian identity, which can never be denied.

This came during a joint press conference with the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Cairo, Diab Al-Louh, and the Cultural Advisor to the Embassy, Naji Al-Naji, at the headquarters of the French Institute in Mounira.

Ambassador Chevalier stressed that France is continuing forward in its pivotal role in bringing peace, especially since it voted in the Security Council in favor of adopting the State of Palestine within the United Nations, and that this gives one message that Paris’s actions speak for themselves.

He explained that Paris is also linked to the humanitarian response to the events in Gaza by bringing humanitarian aid into the sector that desperately needs it, and it is aware of the great role of UNRWA for the Palestinian people, and that the two-state solution is the only way to ensure peace in the region.
He expressed his appreciation to the cultural work team at the Palestinian Embassy in Egypt for cooperating in supporting Palestinian culture in the event.
