Pyramids FC Team Awaits Aircraft Repairs and Weather Improvement to Return from Angola

By Sama Marwan,

The Pyramids FC first team delegation is currently awaiting the completion of maintenance work on their private aircraft, which suffered damage during the return flight from Angola to Cairo due to severe weather conditions. The plane was forced to return to Luanda Airport, the Angolan capital, after flying for about two hours.

The Pyramids FC officials are waiting to receive approval to resume their journey once weather conditions improve and the aircraft repairs are complete.

The team endured a terrifying experience after flying for approximately two hours before encountering violent turbulence. The cabin pressure dropped, causing some members of the delegation to lose consciousness. The Angolan authorities allowed the delegation to re-enter the country without requiring a new visa, and the team spent the night in Luanda after the emergency landing.

Pyramids FC secured a valuable 1-0 victory over Sagrada Esperança in Angola, with Marwan Hamdy scoring the decisive goal, ensuring Pyramids’ qualification to the CAF Champions League quarterfinals for the first time in their history.

The plane was forced to return to Luanda due to severe weather, strong air pressure, and turbulence, narrowly averting a disaster. The delegation returned to the airport to ensure the aircraft’s safety and provide medical care to the injured team members.
