The Egyptian delegation participating in the Russia Festival salutes the brotherhood agreement between Volgograd and Port Said

The Egyptian delegation participating in the World Youth Festival in Sochi, headed by Dr. Abdullah Al-Batsh, met with the delegation of the Volgograd Governorate, headed by Dasha Chernikova, within the framework of the activities of the World Youth Festival in Sochi, at the request of the Volgograd Governorate administration.

Dasha Chernikova welcomed the Egyptian delegation, noting that there was a meeting. Introductory via video conference, attended by Engineer Ahmed Barani, Chairman of the National Committee, and Sherif Gad, Secretary-General of the Committee and the official spokesman, where it was agreed to organize a meeting between the two delegations in Sochi.

Chernikova expressed the Volgograd delegation’s happiness with this bilateral meeting to strengthen the bonds of friendship between Volgograd youth and Egyptian youth, looking forward to more communication at the official levels and civil society institutions.

For his part, Dr. Abdullah Al-Batash, head of the Egyptian delegation, welcomed the youth of Volgograd, stressing that Egypt is open to all cultures of peoples, and we are pleased to strengthen the bonds of friendship with the youth of Volgograd.

Al-Batash referred to the visit of the Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, to Russia and his signing of a cooperation protocol between the two countries, stressing that the protocol is in effect and has been implemented well in the last two years.

Sherif Gad, deputy head of the delegation, spoke about this meeting, which represents an opportunity to activate the brotherhood agreement between the city of Volgograd and the city of Port Said, which was signed in the 1960s, as there is Volgograd Square in Port Said, and Port Said Street in Volgograd.

Dr. Hassan Ghazali, a member of the delegation and founder of the Nasser International Youth Scholarship and Movement, said that there is a good opportunity for communication between Egyptian and Russian youth through such meetings, which provide the opportunity to further get to know each other.

At the end of the meeting, souvenirs were exchanged, and the Volgograd delegation was keen to present artistic performances from the Russian folk singing heritage.
