The Minister of Youth and Sports has participated in the meetings of the International University Sports Federation in Switzerland.

Dr Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth And Sports and President of the African University Sports Federation was accompanying the meetings of the International University Sports Federation executive office in Lausanne, Switzerland. Visits were made to national and regional federations and international federations like President of the International University Sports Federation (Luz Eder) and President of the International Handball Federation (Dr. Hassan Mustafa).

During the discussions of the Expenditure Office of the International University Sports Federation, we were evaluating the federation’s yearly schedule, the work agenda of next period, the organizational matters of the federation in relation to financial issues, and brainstorming to enhance university sports in all continental federations.

The meetings also mentioned the mechanisms for formulating the legislation in the near future and discussing the paths to strengthen and increase the continental federations’ resources.

The meetings included in their agenda both the topic of the university sports’ dues covering the Summer and Winter Universiades and the most significant sports events included in the university sports.

Mr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sport and President of the African University Sports Federation, envisioned bright future to have the African University Sports Federation in the forefront place. He emphasized the need to start supporting the African Federation and other continental federations and developing their resources, especially since Africa has the potential which can make us world’s best while working together to support our International Federation.

The Minister also emphasized the importance of promoting and developing the sports activities of the university students that should be taken place in an appropriate environment. As well as working to achieve the goals of the continental federations emanating from the goals of the International Federation, with a view to stimulate the cooperation from all the member states as well as the sub-committees, in order to achieve the mission of the whole world.

The Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports stated the significance of the interest by the Egyptian state towards the sports movements at the university level, noting that political leaders do not spare any effort to give support to all Egyptian sports federations, particularly the university ones; for the realization of their programs and plans in collaboration with international federations, asserting the serious effort of the Egyptian state to build scientific and sports bridges with African and international universities.
