The Egyptian youth fencers team are nailing the African Fencing Championship.

The junior fencing team from Egypt was ahead of the game when it came to the first day of the African Fencing Championship for Juniors, Youth, and Under 15s. This tournament is being held from March 1 to 7 at the Cairo International Stadium Indoor Halls Complex.

Egypt topped the medal table with 8 medals: 2 golds, 2 silvers and 4 bronze. Tunisia ranked as the second country, winning 1 gold and 1 bronze medal, Senegal was in the third place, picking up 1 silver and South Africa was in the fourth place, getting 1 bronze.

Omar Dowidar represented his Egypt well by winning the gold medal after he won over Ali Dowidar who got silver medal by a margin of 12-15.
Youssef Abdelkader and Adam Shalaby brought home two bronze medals as they made it to the semifinal.

Abdullah Nasr, proved his ability after he defeated Islam Osama 14-13 to win the gold medal and osama won the silver medal.
Mostafa Amer got the bronze medal after he reached the semi-finals.

Fatima Waheba gained the bronze medal by winning 4 out of 6 group stage matches. In this competition, she beated Lamiga Desirama from Togo, Yasmine Sousi from Tunisia, Farah Yasser from Egypt, and Hafsa Al-Idrisi from Morocco.

In the quarter finals, Fatima beated her compatriot Jana Bali to reach the semi-final and won the bronze medal along with the Tunisian Yasmine Sousi.
