The Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly ordered the removal of bureaucratic barriers for pharmaceutical and medical supply manufacturers.
He offered incentives and facilities, such as land and licenses, to attract these companies.
Egypt is a large market with wide needs, and manufacturing locally will enable these companies to export to many countries.
The Prime Minister also called for a comprehensive inventory of the products and medical supplies currently being manufactured, as well as plans for future expansion.
This was according to the state information service.
